Acharya Ved Prakash Joshi, fondly known as Joshiji, hails from Uttarakhand in India. He has been an active Hindu priest in the USA for more than 20 years, and has over 25 years of experience in Vastu, Karmkaand, and Astrological Services. Currently, he serves at the Sadhana Mandir, Norcross, GA (metro Atlanta area). Born in a Brahmin family, he developed a passion for learning Sanskrit as a youth and acquired the prestigious degree of “Shastri” from the National Sanskrit Institute in Delhi (www.sanskrit.nic.in). Inspired by his parents, Joshiji then pursued further education and was conferred the title of “Acharya” by the Varanasi based Sampoornanand Sanskrit Vidyalaya (http://www.ssvv.ac.in/).
He carries the “Sahitya Ratna” title from Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Prayag. Joshiji also has a Post Graduate Masters Degree – MA in Hindi Journalism – from Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar, Uttarakhand (http://gkv.ac.in/).
Joshiji currently shares his knowledge of Hindu traditions, interprets ancient text with proper perspective and engages in delightful thought arousing discourses with devotees in the USA that visit his Sadhana Mandir where you can find him 7 days a week.
A “Sangeet Visharad”, Joshiji leverages various instruments such as harmonium and dholak to add to his vocals during renditions of Hanuman Chalisa, musical recitals during festivals and other regular planned events at the Sadhana Mandir (www.ShreeSadhanaMandir.org).
Not satisfied with being a scholar in knowledge obtained through formal education, he also spent some time in the Himalayas, on Devguru Mountain and Vaishno Devi in the Trikuta Mountains where he undertook strict penance and meditated on Lord Shiva and Mata Bhagvati. This closeness to Mother Nature gave Joshiji immense internal strength and helped him experience – first hand – the beauty, simplicity and contemporary relevance of our ageless traditions.
Through more sadhana and meditation on the banks of the holy Ganges in Haridwar, contemplating on ancient Hindu scriptures, Joshiji developed deeper insights which he now shares with those that seek his spiritual guidance.
A wonderful orator and singer, Joshiji is a dedicated priest that performs all Hindu rites and ceremonies. He engages with devotees, young and old, in satsangs that helps put context around rituals he has been invited to perform. Whether it be a Satyanarayan Maha Pooja, a Griha Pravesh, a traditional Hindu Marriage ceremony or any community mass participation festival s.a. Mahashivratri etc., please invite Joshiji to participate. He has tremendous experience in leading, hosting as well as contributing significantly in making such events successful.
While there are multiple means to contact and connect with Joshiji (www.joshiji.com), it would be great if you visit him in person at the Sadhana Mandir, located inside the Global Mall in in Norcross, GA any day of the week.
